Anécdota desagradable

The satirical story “A Nasty Joke” by a prominent Russian writer of the 19th century Fyodor Dostoevsky is presented in the book.
A high-ranking official accidentally finds himself at a wedding party of one of his petty clerks. He was only willing to congratulate the newly weds. But it so happened that his good intentions had led to a huge embarrassment.
The story is adapted (C1). It is provided with the commentaries and exercises aimed at checking the understanding of the content and the oral speech development. The book is also supplied with the most interesting facts of the author’s life.
